HOPE worldwide Baltimore Chapter Mini Grant
The GBCOC leadership and HOPEww Baltimore Chapter Advisory Committee (CAC) want to encourage and support the GBC family groups to serve Jesus in their service to youth and families in Baltimore City by providing them with grant funds to implement projects in Baltimore.
The Bmore About It Mini Grant is available to all family groups of the Greater Baltimore Church to support projects they desire to do or are currently doing. This small grant can be used to purchase materials and supplies for projects that serve youth in Baltimore City. The grant amount is from $200 to $1,000 depending on the size of the project.
Project Guidelines:
Family group leaders must complete a Bmore About It Mini Grant application and submit the application to the HOPE worldwide Baltimore Chapter Advisory Committee (CAC).
Target population for the project, as restricted by the donor, is youth and family projects in Baltimore City. Family members must be engaged in the project. For example, projects may include requests to purchase supplies for tutoring or mentoring programs, athletic tournaments, neighborhood/park clean up, service to youth serving organizations, service to homeless youth shelters including distribution of food or other items, to name a few.
If the project cost is less than $1,000, the grant award will be given by reimbursement after the project is completed. HOPE worldwide will only provide advance payments for project amount of $1,000 or more. CAC needs 30 days before the project date to review the grant application and determine if the project is approved. Plan ahead and give the CAC enough time to review your project application. Submission of grant application is not a guarantee for grant approval. If the grant application is approved, the family group leader needs to keep accurate receipts for all items that are purchased for the project. HOPE worldwide does not allow funds to be used to purchase items, lodging, or food for direct benevolence to needy persons. However, you can purchase items directly for the project. HOPE worldwide requires receipt to be submitted within 45 days of the expenditure to be reimbursed for the items. The accounting department takes two weeks to process a reimbursement. Family group leaders will work with the CAC to complete chapter reimbursement form and email receipts and form to HOPE worldwide.
Volunteers must be willing to abide by all Baltimore City health guidelines (i.e. mask wearing, social distancing, etc.) and HOPE worldwide safety guidelines for volunteers including minors. Every volunteer must sign a current waiver to participate in an event. HOPE worldwide uses VolunteerHub to track waiver forms and volunteer registration. CAC will provide the family group leader with the link to VolunteerHub or printed forms. Photographic waivers are required for anyone whose picture will be used in materials or online; a photographic waiver is included in the volunteer waiver.
If, for any reason, there is an unexpected date change or rescheduling of the project, the family group leader must inform CAC of the new date and reason for change.
At the completion of the project, the family group leader has 3 business days to submit the project outcome form. The project outcome will include the description of the project, total number of volunteers, total number of youth served, cost, lessons learned, and pictures and short video of the project to be posted on the GBC HOPE worldwide Baltimore Chapter FaceBook page.
